MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN  (Part-time, 16 to 20 hrs/wk)
Open: 08/25/11
Closes: OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Compensation: $13.01/hr - $16.71/hr DOQ
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, buildings and properties including: Maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds; Performing a variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, including but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, sheetrock and painting; Repairing and treating structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; Performing minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, and door hinges; Changing filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units; Servicing appliances, kitchen, and emergency equipment; Hooking up appliances; Reporting mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action; Moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites; Setting up and breaking down cubicle partitions; Exercising  discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person; assisting in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as directed; and Annotating/updating work logs for specific site requirements.

FLSA CLASS: Independent Contractor

This Independent Contractor will utilize a ‘family centered approach’, utilizing wraparound therapeutic services with families who present with current crises or are at risk of have their children placed in out-of-home care.  Services provided can include: family counseling, individual counseling with members of the family, and participation in team meetings regarding the family.  Desired outcomes include:  improving child safety and wellbeing, connecting of families to appropriate community resources, improving parenting skills to deter further CPS referrals, reducing risk factors as specified by the family and the DCFS referring social worker, preventing out-of-home care placements, returning children safely back into their families following out-of-home care placements, and ameliorating current crises in the family. Licensed Homes NeededCommunity Youth Services is seeking therapeutic foster, shelter, and host homes for youth ages 6 to 21 years of age. Families must be caring, structured and willing to attend training to manage adolescent depression, school truancy, runaways, conduct disorder, fetal alcohol syndrome, and attachment disorders, etc. Transitional and shelter homes provide less restrictive supervision for youth ages 16 to 21 who are seeking independence. Foster parents receive pre-placement training, on-going monthly training, case management services, respite care, 24 hour on-call service, foster parent mentors, and monthly reimbursement.
