Occasion Donations

A New Concept in Giving

Welcome to Community Youth Services’ Occasion Donation, an innovative way to honor, thank, and remember people you care about while helping vulnerable children, teens, and families in our community.

Use Occasion Donation to celebrate the holidays or recognize birthdays, milestones, and special achievements. It is also a gracious expression of gratitude, or a meaningful memorial for someone who has cared deeply about youth.

By giving where it is most needed through Occasion Donation, your gift will make an important difference in young peoples’ lives, and be truly appreciated.

How to Use Occasion Donation

About 7-10 days prior to your event or special milestone, just complete an Occasion Donation form and mail it with your tax-deductible contribution to Community Youth Services. Within 5 business days, you will receive a formal acknowledgement letter, and a hand-written note will be sent to notify the honoree or appropriate recipient of your thoughtfulness. Your Occasion Donation can stand alone as a gift or accompany a traditional, wrapped present.

Occasion Donation FAQs

How will my honoree(s) know about the gift?
In addition to the formal acknowledgment letter sent to the donor, Community Youth Services will also send an personal, hand-written note to your honorees and/or their family to inform them of your thoughtfulness in their honor.

Is there a minimum amount to donate?
While every contribution to Community Youth Services is welcome and valued, we encourage a minimum Occasion Donation of at least $10 or more to cover administrative expenses with enough remaining to help support a youth program. Naturally, the more generous your gift, the greater impact it will have on the services we provide to high-risk and homeless youth in South Puget Sound.

Will anyone know how much I donated?
All contributions to Community Youth Services are considered private and kept in confidence. When notifying your honorees of your generous gesture, we will include the amount of your Occasion Donation only upon your request.
