Family Reconciliation Services provides family-focused counseling for families who are experiencing a current crisis with their child or adolescent. The services are brief and can include up to fifteen hours of face-to-face counseling with each family which can extend over a period of one month. CYS therapists provide home-, community-, and school-based services to resolve the current crisis and to assure that the family has access to resources in their community to sustain progress. CYS utilizes a solution-focused, strength-based model to address specific issues of abuse and neglect, resolve crises and conflicts within the family, identify each family’s strengths, teach parenting skills, and assure that the family has access to community-based resources to sustain progress. Families can access CYS Family Reconciliation Services by calling Washington State’s Division of Children and Families services.
