Message from the Manager

Thank you for taking an interest in our community’s youth!

Our mission at CYS is to support at-risk youth and families in meeting their needs for health, safety, security and community. CYS assists vulnerable youth with diverse backgrounds in developing their potential and achieving a sense of responsibility to themselves and their community as they make the transition into healthy and productive adulthood. It is our vision that every child grow up in a supportive home and community, achieving his or her full potential for personal growth.

A vital part of CYS operations is our dedicated core of volunteers. In fact, many of our programs rely on the service of volunteers - like you! - in order to best meet the needs of our at-risk youth. Volunteers of all ages are utilized and recruited, each program with its own age, skill, and experience requirements.

We will work to place you in a position that is satisfying to both you and the youth with whom you work. If you want to serve, we can manage just about any schedule and amount of commitment. Some of our volunteers work during the day and others in the evening; some serve on Community Accountability Boards once a week for 3 hours at a time, and some choose to work for a limited length of time on a one-time project. Any time that you can give ripples through the agency and youth, spreading out into the youths’ day-to-day life.

Here is the volunteer application packet. Please take the time to read through the paperwork and decide if you are interested, taking into consideration your skills as well as the commitment you are able to make at this time.
